The Horse Whisperer Phenomenon
Many of us have heard about the "Horse Whisperer" who changed our attitudes about relating to horses. Instead of horse whispering, however, WisdomRider prefers to think about this relationship in terms of listening to the horse, allowing him the opportunity to serve as a kind of "therapist" to US, enabling us to listen to ourselves--and trust the information we hear.

Everyone experiences life differently, learns differently, and benefits from different kinds of input. Historical Context for Equine Assisted Coaching
Horses first appeared in Paleolithic art as early as 20,000 BC, but it was not until around 4,000 BC that they began to help us in our work--pulling carts, carrying loads, plowing the fields, and working in mine shafts...even carrying us off in times of war.
Although for centuries horses have been one of the most economically important domesticated animals, today the horse's role has changed so that for the most part he has taken on the role of friend and companion, making horses one of the most cherished animals.
Horses display a wonderful model for functioning herd behavior--behavior based on "followership"--followership based on trust and the qualities of natural leadership, such as clarity, centeredness, determination, and loving kindness.
We can learn much about ourselves and our relationships through our work with horses. The WisdomRider Equine Assisted Coaching program promotes and provides access to authentic expression and connection, encouraging natural leadership qualities to fulfill our life's purpose, and to benefit each other and our communities.
WisdomRider Philosophy
The philosophy behind WisdomRider Equine Assisted Coaching is that we, as individuals, are free to choose how to create relationships. When we know how to use the tools we have been given, we can go on to create them based on "want" rather than "have to" or "I'll make you", and this can be demonstrated to us by our equine partners in a beautiful, clear, congruent manner.
What this is really all about is the quality of our relationship with the horses,with ouurselves and others--and with yourself--and about entering new pathways to our own potential.
WisdomRider might help you recognize certain behavior patterns that might not be working so well for you anymore, and what they might mean. When we have a chance to look in a new way at the positive and negative aspects of these patterns (which often have become habituated in us), we can open up to the freedom to make choices that we previously might not have known existed. This can be both liberating and exciting!
